What immigration benefits can you get through Obama’s Deferred Action?
Obama’s Deferred Action allows you to get a form of discretionary relief, which essentially gives you two important benefits:
- Obama’s Deferred Action protects you from deportation. Obama’s Deferred Action is for a temporary, two-year period. After the two-year period expires, presumably, you could reapply for or otherwise extend Obama’s Deferred Action.
- Obama’s Deferred Action allows you to get a work permit (also known as an Employment Authorization Card). A work permit, through Obama’s Deferred Action, would allow you to get a social security number and possibly apply for a driver’s license.
